Born in Istanbul in 1938, Mehmet Güleryüz graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1966. He began his professional acting career in 1963 and held his first solo exhibition focused on drawings. From 1970 to 1975, he specialized in painting and lithography in Paris. In 1980, Güleryüz moved to New York until 1984, exhibiting in various galleries. Returning to Istanbul in 1985, he taught at BİLSAK and founded the art magazine "Kalın." He served in leadership roles in the International Association of Art (IAA) from 2000 onwards. Güleryüz participated in numerous international exhibitions, including Vienna, Beijing, and London. His career-spanning retrospective was held at Istanbul Modern Museum in 2015. He continues to live and work in Istanbul and Paris, staying active in the art scene.
